This year’s Expowest Cornwall took place from 5th-7th March, at the Royal Cornwall Showground, in Wadebridge, and over those three days more than 2000 buyers flowed through the doors. If you were one of them – thank you for visiting!
Around 150 exhibitors showcased products covering the whole catering market, from tableware and furniture, catering equipment and services, to coffee and food products. Visitors came for the day, to sample the great food and drink on offer, to see the best new equipment in action, and to catch up with old friends as well as making new ones. The busy and friendly atmosphere perfectly demonstrated Cornish hospitality to all who attended.
The show coincided with St Piran’s Day, which was marked by a visit from the Pirates of St Piran who, rather than singing for their supper, were rewarded for their vocal efforts with Cornish pasties from Portreath Bakery. The visit was arranged by the Cornwall Biz Forum, filmed by Cornwall Channel TV, and hosted by the “Promoting Cornwall to the World Stand” – a very Cornish way of marking a Cornish day!
Taking place well before Easter, Expowest Cornwall was perfectly timed to bring businesses up to date with all the latest innovations and developments ready for the start of the tourism season. In keeping with this, the show hosted the Cornwall Tourism Conference, which brought together speakers from across the country to pass on their expertise. Delegates enjoyed the fast moving format of the conference and also the opportunity to attend the show afterwards.
Next year’s show will run from March 4th – 6th 2014 – put it in your diaries now!
