We’ve got over 180 exhibitors waiting to meet you in a couple of weeks time. Behind the scenes, they’re busy getting ready, and so are we…we’ve launched this brand new website for starters! However, it’s not just now that we’re all busy, our exhibitors seem to have been busy all year. There’s a lot to tell you about, so read on to see what they’ve been up to!
As you may know by now, our aim for all our shows is to go single-use plastic free. To that end, we’ve developed an innovative new badging system for exhibitors and visitors that removes the need for any plastic wallets, which you’ll see for yourself at the show. Last year we teamed up with Final Straw Cornwall, the campaign to rid Cornwall of single use plastic straws and raise awareness of the damage single use plastics are causing to our environment. We’re trying to do our bit, and it looks like we’re not alone:
Just Water (Stand E37) have introduced ‘Water in a Box’ which they have been given the distribution of for this local area. The box is made from paperboard made from carbon-neutral wood, which is a 100% renewable and sustainable material. The wood processing by-products also provide renewable bio-energy for the paper mills and local heating, reducing fossil fuel consumption. The lightweight box only uses water-based inks and has been granted an OPRL licence for its recyclability. The caps are resealable and recyclable and don’t contain any PET. The water itself originates from a deep-seated underground source in the Mendip Hills of Somerset, is boxed at source and has an excellent mineral balance. It comes in Natural Spring Water, and 3 different flavours – Strawberry, Lemon & Lime, Orange and Peach. With this new product they hope to offer their customers the opportunity to switch to a more sustainable and less environmentally damaging product, and reduce their carbon footprint.
Celebrating 70 years of manufacturing quality cleaning chemicals, Cleenol (Stand J9) will be showing their X2 Spray System at the show, which is fantastic for those customers who want to reduce the amount of plastic waste they currently produce. It’s an easy to use, lightweight system which instantly mixes water and a specially formulated concentrate without the need to measure. There is no need to revisit a box on the wall – simply add water when needed. It is particularly suitable for use in locations where a high level of hygiene is required. The X2 Spray System uses patented technology to ensure the dilution of concentrated product remains accurate. Specially designed seals built into every cartridge prevent contact with the concentrate. As an added security measure, the X2 Spray System will only operate when both cartridges are locked into the system. Each 325ml cartridge produces the equivalent to more than 12 standard 750ml ready to use trigger sprays. This means no throw away triggers, just one cartridge to be recycled instead of 12 empty flasks to dispose of. It also saves on storage space, and has a low carbon footprint for distribution.
Ethical, sustainable and carefully sourced products have always been fundamental to TQuality (Stand G27) and they will be promoting their eco-friendly range of packaging at the show. Reduce your carbon footprint and care for the environment with packaging that’s 100% biodegradable or compostable and recyclable They even have new retro red and white paper straws, which provide an environmentally friendly alternative to the conventional plastic straw. If you’re looking for a bargain, then they have put together a special show promotions brochure with various multi-buys and offers on 60+ products! If you’re interested in testing out their products at the show, they will be sampling IQF cod & pollock with their batter partners Middleton Foods and promoting their new range of coley, hake and pollock fish products. Blended with milk or ice, Shmoo creates deliciously thick, ice cream textured milkshakes or iced cappuccinos consistently and with ease. Presented in a contemporary cup with fantastic branding and domed lids, it gets you noticed on the street. In a bid to help reduce waste created by single-use plastics, Aimia Foods recently announced that they have parted ways with plastic straws, and made the switch to paper ones from a local company instead. Now their customers will continue to enjoy the same drinking experience but in a much more environmentally friendly way! They’re working hard to minimise their environmental impact in other ways too; with 50% of the plastic used in the manufacturing process of Shmoo cups and lids coming from recycled plastic (RPET). As well as this, Shmoo cups and lids are 100% recyclable and can be recycled by all local authorities through plastic waste stream bins. Shmoo is your greener grab-and-go milkshake option!
